Pre-opening and opening as well as logistics and medical start-up of the Hospital and Surgical Department – preparing the JCI accreditation of the hospital. I was hired 8 month before planned opening to organize the cardiac department.
Within 1 month my responsibilities were expanded to overall responsibility for the whole hospital as Medical Director / CMO. My responsibilities included all medical staff and auxiliary services reporting to me. Responsible for all medical pre-opening logistics, defining standard operational procedures and quality control standards, organizing effective clinical governance systems, managed the medical start-up and JCI accreditation process. Responsible for the HR part of selecting and hiring the medial staff of over 80 international specialists and consultants up to the successful opening and first successful surgical and medical Interventions.
Designed the strategy initiatives to create new capabilities for the new hospital, initiated the collaboration and partnership with NGO´s to reach potential patients and designed and managed novel creative screening programs. Was involved in the management of the hospital, prepared regular board reports for the board. Nurtured relationships and partnerships with vendors for the difficult supply chains of the hospital - difficult due to the remote location on the Maldivian islands
Following the successful opening of the hospital some serious differences between the owners and the managing company (Ramsey Sime Darby) caused the termination of the management contract and termination of all contracts of the medical staff.
